Default Is this behaviour reportable/bannable?

Hello,

yesterday afternoon I caught a guy in Lutgardis Italian district, who was saying he would have reported those doing HFFF because it was "illegal".

I took 2 screenshots of what he was writing in the local chat:

Abny Ishii is my toon, I deleted the name of the other players and the 1st part of this guy's name.
Translation is as follows:

[other player] then?
[guy] since it's illegal they will ban the account
[other player] use report
[guy] already done but I prefer the screenshots
[Abny Ishii] illegal what?
[guy] hfff
[other player] what are you talking about, bots?
[Abny Ishii] if you do it manually it's not illegal
[other player] hfff illegal?
[Abny Ishii] be careful to report improperly otherwise they'll ban you instead
[other player] yes
[guy] let's see this evening
[guy] what they say in gw

Now, this is not a discussion about HFFF.
Until nerfed or officially declared illegal from A.net, HFFF is to be considered legitimate, since the build can be found on the officil wiki accessible from the game client.

I want to know if this guy can be reported because he entered an outpost and started writing in the local chat that he was taking screenshots of players in the outpost doing something he considered "illegal", and threatening those players to have their account banned.

Please don't answer giving your opinion about HFFF, there are several threads about it, just please give me an answer about the fact that reporting this guy for his behaviour is possible.

Possibly could be considered intimidation (he's obviously full of crap, and trying to threaten people). Unless the guy is doing it a lot I doubt they would do anything, maybe an account mark. If he really is reporting people I don't see the point since he's also reporting himself.

I don't believe you can report him, but if he really is abusing the report feature over something that isn't illegal, he's going to be disciplined soon enough.

Just ignore him, there's nothing you can do otherwise.

HFFF is in no way illegal... He's probably just some guy trolling around in Lutgardis, if he's actually reporting people for no good reason he'll get banned instead and he probably knows it.

Or he might be a douche thinking it's actually illegal to HFFF and thinks it's funny to get others banned, just because he can.

As said, if he is actually reporting people for non-reportable actions, he will get his hand slapped by ANet. You need do nothing. The system will take care of it.

If he shows up often making such threats, then send several different screenshots to ANet with list of times and places, as his actions would come under "ruining the fun" or however that phrase in the legal stuff goes.

when it comes to HFFF everyones sketchy on when to report for botting and when to realize that the person is actually there. HFFF in itself require a very specific routine of actions to get the best results, and those who have HFFFed for a loong time tends to do everything exactly so they loks like bots. HFFF IS NOT ILLEGAL. the only thing is this person is full of crap.

on a similar note, while i was hfffing yesterday somebody pmed me calling me a scammer. when i asked why he said it was because i was charging 100g and the people being run only make 50g. i laughed at the multitude of things wrong with what he said.
but did i think he was serious? nope. i doubt this guy is either. lutgardis is just a decent place to troll.

People can say what they want, believing them or not is up to you. If you don't want to hear these stuff play in the most empty distritcs, Asian districts ftw

The person trying to intimidate players should be reported. Folks like that are habitual trouble makers and make the game less enjoyable.

Anet may not do anything on the initial report but if this is a habit there will almost certainly be something done.

Have you seen option verbal abuse under the report menu? I'm pretty sure that's for people who say something to abuse others. In other words they can be reported for it and be banned for a few days.

Sounds to me like the guys jealous that others are doing HFFF and maybe he isn't? Perhaps he's too bloody lazy so since he can't/won't do it nobody can. Otherwise I don't see why after 2 years somebody would bring up such a stupid thing. Ignore him and let Anet deal with it otherwise you're no better then him. Stirring up crap over nothing.

QFT.

Reporting him in game is worthless though since you can't type out a discrpition. But if you use the right wording and discription in the site report, you might get him in trouble.

Really, ANYTHING is reportable. Whether they ban him or not though is a tough call and in A.net's hands.
You won't get in trouble if you report him and A.net decides its not a violation (as long as you aren't habitually doing it).

Just use language like "creating extreme and outrageous emotional distress," "deception," "misinformation," or "I feel threatened/intimidated because of player xs behavior." Of course, only use that language if you really do feel that way. Don't lie to A.net about your feelings.

All those things fall under Tort liability, and a.net would ban if they feel your feelings are legitamate, since they'd COULD be in trouble legally otherwise (by condoning tortous behavior). If you use proper "lawyer speak" in reports, a.net is likely to consider your claim more legitamately then if you go "this guy ticked me off, ban him please."
